St. Paul's School is a Christian school located in the historic town of Haymarket. We provide a strong academic program for Prekindergarten through early elementary.
The centrality of Christ in the curriculum and in the school environment is the most distinguishing aspect of our educational program for if we “have not love, [we] gain nothing.” (1 Corinthians 13). We believe that each student is a unique and precious child of God endowed with special gifts and a specific purpose to fulfill. The mission of each teacher is to help each child discover his/her talents and abilities as he/she explores the world God has made.
We believe that teachers are partners with parents in the educational process. The teacher’s role is to nurture the child’s innate love for learning, recognizing the individual pace of growth in the cognitive, physical, emotional, social and spiritual development of each child.
St. Paul’s goal is to do more than teach children to memorize facts, but to learn how to think critically and to express themselves creatively. However, the pursuit of knowledge must be motivated by a love for God. As John Milton, the English Poet, Historian and Scholar stated:
The end of learning is to know God,
and out of that knowledge to love Him and imitate Him.
